SUMMER SOCIAL GOLF OUTING
It’s not too late you; can still register for the Summer Social as we have a few spots available. It is a great way to
spend time with other Chamber members. The Summer Social will be held on Thursday, July 31 st at the Fort DodgCountry Club. If you would like a form or have questions give us a call at 515.955.5500.
If you don’t like to golf but want
to join the fun, come out for dinner. We will start serving dinner at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are only $18.00 each.
GIRLS STATE SOFTBALL
It’s still not to late to get your name in front of 640 people. Girls State Softball Tournament July 15 th to July 19 th .
There will be 32 teams with 20 girls per team for a total of 640. We would like to put packets together for the teams that
make the trip to State. If you have a giveaway
item or coupon you would like to include in the packets please have them
to the Chamber office by July 9th. Showcase your business and let them know how much we appreciate having the
tournament in Fort Dodge.

On Wednesday, July 9th at 7:30 a.m., the Employer's Network Taskforce will be hosting Tim O'Tool as he
addresses the steps that are being planned to overcome the area's workforce needs. As a key leader in the Development
Corporation of Fort Dodge's R.A. Smith Study, Tim will provide an update on the study's findings as well as the work in
progress relevant to area employers.
While the study also offered information and recommendations on housing and property development and a
marketing/branding campaign, Tim's area of focus is dedicated to the local workforce. A web site hosting a local job bank
feature as well as other opportunities for area employers to join will be introduced at this meeting.
A hot breakfast will be served at L.A. Beemer's on Central. The cost to attend is $9.00 per person. Preregistration
is required by calling the Chamber at (515) 9555500.

Thursday, July 10 th hosted by Fort Dodge Noon Sertoma Club “Presenting the first phase of the
Veterans Memorial Park” next to Children’s Forest @Badger Lake 5:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

LEADERSHIP Fort Dodge 2008-2009
will begin the first week in September. The first 28 paid applications will be
accepted. We are currently half full so make sure to get your applications in now. The purpose of LEADERSHIP Fort
Dodge is a broad based, interactive experience that seeks to shape future leaders by providing them with the background
information and tools to become a positive force in our community. Applications are available at the Chamber or on line at

FARM PROGESS SHOW, BOONE
The largest agricultural trade show, Farm Progress, will be held August 2628,
2008, in Boone, Iowa. The
Chamber, The City of Fort Dodge and possibly the Development Corporation of Webster County, are going to place a fullpage
ad in the program, and are offering our members the opportunity to participate along with us.
We will have a fullpage
ad promoting our area and our industries. If you would like to participate, the cost will be
divided according to how many participants there are. A fullpage
color ad is $3,079.00. Over 100,000 people attend this
show; this program will also be enclosed in the monthly Wallaces Farmer, which has a distribution on 55,000. This is a
great opportunity to introduce our region’s capabilities to many people.
NETWORK AT NOON
Come join the FUN!!! Network at Noon is a great way to network and get to know your fellow Chamber Members.
The next meeting will be July 17 th at L.A. Beemer’s on Central from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $8.00 to cover the
